Bauer Academy Launches New Wellness, Ethics, Sustainability and Social Program – FE News
The new “Community Connector” platform will be launched in October
Bauer Media Dedicated Training Provider Bauer Academy today announced the launch of ‘Community connector‘, a new platform designed to help learners enrich their skills, connect with professionals and grow both personally and professionally.
Open to all Bauer Academy learners, Community Connector sessions and social spaces will connect learners with tutors, guest speakers and peers from over 40 different companies. Community Connector activities are delivered outside of class workshops and assignments, helping learners expand their communities and careers.
The workshops will be divided into four different content pillars: ‘Ethics and Our Environment’, ‘Personal Enrichment’, ‘Professional Skills’ and ‘Step Inside’, building skills beyond the learners’ learning curriculum and teaching skills on topics such as media ethics, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, well-being, trust, productivity and resilience.
Commenting on the new program, Chloe Walsh, Operations and Community Coordinator, Bauer Academy said:
“We know that personal development is a fundamental aspect of well-being and success, and we are proud to be able to facilitate this for our learners. Community Connector will connect learners with peers from a range of organizations and have the chance to learn and be inspired by top tutors and guest speakers.
Courtnay McCleod, Academy Director, Bauer Academy added:
“Since Covid-19, our training programs are mostly delivered virtually. This brings many benefits, but it can lead to a loss of social connections for learners. We are therefore delighted to launch Community Connector, which offers new opportunities for our learners to come together. Learning is not just about being taught by a tutor – the community aspect of learning is fundamental. Social interactions improve well-being, allow people to think and collaborate, while developing essential skills for employability.
The first Community Connector session starts on the 4the October. Bookings for sessions will be open to all Bauer Academy learners from Thursday 15e September.
