Grace Parry, 15, who lives in Mold, arrived at her school’s prom held at Chester Racecourse in the cab of a cement mixer!

The teenager, along with her friend Aimee Coppack, 16, were driven to the scene in a truck from her grandfather David Robert’s company, Dependable Concrete.

At the wheel was the company’s Wrexham doser, Steve Daykin, who drove with the girls from their Llay base in Wrexham.

After making their presence known with a good honk, Grace told mom Gemma, “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

It was a double celebration for family business Dependable Concrete, which is opening a new fifth factory in Ellesmere Port, joining operational sites in Deeside, Wrexham, Runcorn and Anglesey.

Gemma said: “Reliability has come a long way. We survived Covid and continue to grow. We have a fabulous committed team with a great work ethic.”

Managing Director of Dependable Concrete, David Roberts, added: “We are a privately owned family business, and since Brexit and then covid the demand for our products and services has increased dramatically.

“We have taken the decision to strengthen our position in the market by securing a new site on the Ellesmere Port industrial estate.”
