Sometimes life’s greatest gifts only belong to us for a short time. Rather than losing ourselves in the grief of losing him, we will remember how blessed we were to have shared precious moments of life with him.
It breaks our hearts to announce that Edward “Ted” Muise passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Center on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the age of 58. Predeceased by his mother Loretta, his father Edward and his brother Donny.
Survived by his beloved partner of 21 years, Raymond White. Ted will be sadly missed by his stepchildren, Tyler (Lyndsay) and Samantha (Steve); his grandchildren, Hunter & Elliot; his sisters, Stasia Muise & Barb Gillam (Wade); brothers-in-law Rocco (Rose), Kirk (Rick), Lorne (Joan), and Paul (Denise}; nieces Trinda, April, and Chastity; nephews Keith and Travis; great-nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends.
Highly respected among his peers, Ted was a dignified man, always faithful to his values. He was very proud of his indigenous roots and had great respect for everyone he met, especially his elders. He had such a big personality that his energy could be felt across the room. He fit in everywhere, conversed with everyone and left you laughing and feeling like friends forever.
That glint in his eye… that mischievous smile…the way he beat you at darts or pool…the way he outclassed you at a wedding…the way he lit up with pride and joy for his stepchildren, nieces , nephews and grandchildren…those memories (and his love of life) will never be forgotten.
With a deep concern for all and the strongest work ethic, Ted has spent his life striving to help others. From her nursing career in Bay St. George, to her time as a leader of the Mi’k Maq community of St. George, to her entrepreneurial journey in Torbay creating People Empowerment Solutions Corp., then co-founding Think Outside the Box, to his most recent work with Long Lac First Nations… he has worked tirelessly to make a difference and give back to his communities.
Adding to his list of accomplishments, Ted achieved his life’s dream of completing his MBA through the Australian Institute of Business and was thrilled to continue in the corporate world, having just landed the job. of his dreams.
Throughout his endeavors, family and relationships have remained of utmost importance to Ted. Even when separated by miles, he communicated frequently with his partner Ray lovingly.. sharing every meal together via Facetime and the nightly conversations…he remained present even from a distance. Side by side for 21 years…until the last moment…it will be far too quiet now without him.
Per Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
Ted still has some trips to make!
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be announced at a later date and we look forward to remembering it with you then.
Special thanks go to the oncology care teams at Kelowna General Hospital in British Columbia and the Dr. H. Bliss Cancer Center in St. John’s.
Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Edward Ted Muise 2022..
