Hoover’s Most Eligible Bachelor and Bachelorette Contest
Ahhh. February – the month to celebrate love, or at least the idea of romance.
As Season 26 of ABC’s hit TV show “The Bachelor” airs, we at the Hoover Sun are going to have a little fun and try to determine Hoover’s Most Eligible Bachelor and Most Eligible Bachelor.
Between February 1 and February 14, we’ll be taking nominations for people you think are the most eligible men and women in town. What does it mean?
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “eligible bachelor” as “an unmarried man considered a desirable husband.” The term “eligible bachelor” was not the dictionary, but obviously the same idea would apply to women and desirable wives.
So, we want to know – who out there would make a good catch? Who would make an ideal husband or wife for someone? Of course, the standards are subjective and you can nominate someone for any reason, but we’d like you to tell us why you think that person is most deserving of the title.
Are they extremely attractive? Wonderful physics? Do they have a great personality, a wonderful heart of integrity, a loyal soul, a witty demeanor? Whatever you appreciate and see in them, let us know.
Please include a photo of the nominee, as well as their name, age, occupation (or school if a student) and the reasons why you are nominating them. In addition, we need to have the contact details of the nominees to ensure that they agree to participate in the competition. The only requirements are that the person must be at least 18 years old, single, and live or work in Hoover.
We’ll be taking nominations until February 14, and then letting people vote online between February 21 and March 7. We’ll be back with a list of finalists and a final ballot March 12-26, and then plan to name the winners for the May edition of the Hoover Sun.
We know there are good takes, so let us hear from you, Hoover. Submit your applications using the form below:
