Job: Accounting Assistant at Action Health Incorporated (AHI)

AHI advances this agenda by working with young people, parents, community opinion leaders, youth-serving organizations, government agencies, and policymakers to:

Promote and protect the sexual and reproductive health of young people in particular, by increasing their ability to prevent early pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS and by making informed choices about their sexuality without discrimination, coercion and violence; as well as developing skills to thrive now and in adulthood;
Increase community awareness and action on the challenges facing young people so that policies and programs are put in place to effectively address these issues; and
Build alliances to increase the number of government, private sector and civil society programs that provide support and opportunities to improve the lives of young people.

Over the past 26 years, AHI has worked to ensure that private and public sector curricula include comprehensive, gender-responsive, life skills and rights-based approaches to sex education and clinical services for young people. During this time, AHI has developed models that have been adopted and expanded by government and other civil society organizations. Some key achievements include:

Successful advocacy for the endorsement of the National Education Policy for Universal Access to Sexuality Education for young people in Nigeria; and development of the National Family Life and HIV Education Curriculum for primary, secondary and tertiary levels in collaboration with education stakeholders.
To facilitate the development of curriculum in family life and emerging health issues for colleges of education in Nigeria in collaboration with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE)
Catalyze/operationalise youth-friendly health services in partnership with stakeholders to promote youth access to age-appropriate, gender-sensitive sexual and reproductive health information and services in several states in Nigeria .
Published reviews and situation analyzes on the sexual and reproductive health of married adolescent girls in northern Nigeria and expanded their access to services in four northern states, including facilitating the return of married girls to school.
Raise awareness of the vulnerabilities of out-of-school adolescent girls in the urban slums of Lagos and facilitate advocacy to improve policy and programmatic response. Job Description

Preparation of WHT and PAYE monthly installment schedule
Attachment of supporting documents to all payment vouchers, filing and agreement of supporting documents with each position
Daily filing of correspondence and updating of files (LSIR, FIRS, Pension, Insurance etc.)
Participate in the withdrawal of cash advances
Paid stamp on all payment vouchers
Photocopying and scanning of documents
Ensure that all staff members sign their payslips and deposit them promptly.
Submission of files to internal audit
Any other duties assigned from time to time.


Candidates must possess an OND qualification with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
First experience as an accounting assistant
Proficiency in computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
Good time management and sense of organization
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
