Klein ISD Raises Starting Salary for School Police Officers by $10,000

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) — As inflation continues to rise, some employers like the Klein Independent School District Police Department are tackling the problem by offering a starting salary increase.

KISD announced a salary increase of almost $10,000 for junior police officers. Effective October 10, the starting salary will increase from $50,800 to $60,000.

The police officer position listed on its website includes, but is not limited to, the following job description:

-Follow all Klein ISD and Police Department policies and procedures.

-Will respond willingly and promptly to all calls for duty assigned by the police dispatcher or senior officer.

-Enforce all general and criminal laws of the State of Texas brought to the attention of the police and within the jurisdiction of the Klein ISD Board of Directors.

Additional incentive pay and allowances are also available, including a 3% shift differential, cell phone allowance of $540 per year, and bilingual allowance of $1,500 per year.

The district also announced that it is now hiring police officers, with applications available on the KISD website.
