Darlene Minore, Senior Account Specialist, has been named the recipient of a Guilford Employee Recognition Award.
First coach Matt Hoey, who initiated this program, encouraged all employees to nominate colleagues to be recognized for their achievements and outstanding performance in their jobs.
The Employee Recognition Awards Committee selected Minore, who was nominated by her supervisor, Chief Financial Officer Maryjane Malavasi.
Malavasi praised Minore for ensuring that all vendors in the city were paid for the duration of the pandemic and for helping to implement a new purchase order system at the same time.
“Darlene’s job required constantly going back and forth between home and office, and carrying thousands of invoices in order to get things done. [But in addition] during this same period, she took up the challenge of implementing the purchase order requisition module in MUNIS. Our office was instructed by the first councilor to put this in place by July 1, and it was. She took the time to train each department and handle calls with questions and concerns. Darlene continues to go above and beyond her job description to facilitate processes for each department,” said Malavasi.
Minore has worked in the City of Guilford’s finance department since 2001. On March 22, she received an employee recognition certificate and a gift card from Hoey, in recognition of her accomplishments.
