Gurgaon: Homebuyers at the Ansal Esencia project in Sector 67 protested and filed a police complaint against the developer on Sunday alleging embezzlement. The developer has yet to receive a certificate of occupancy and there is a lack of amenities, buyers alleged.
The RWA Members said the project, which has about 600 residents and beneficiaries, is still incomplete and without OC and electricity connection. Residents alleged that the ban on plot registration, pending developer dues with several authorities and non-functioning rainwater harvesting systems have further made their lives difficult.
Dharmender Tanwar, President of Essencia RWA said he had filed a complaint with the police at the Sector 65 Police Station seeking criminal charges for cheating and embezzlement against the promoter and his senior management. “We have not received what we were promised and by the date the property is in ruins”, Tanwar said.
Ansal API Esencia covers 140 acres. The total number of units in this project, which was started in 2011, is 1,043. Ownership began in 2014 and there are currently over 2,000 families living in the company. Additionally, more than 500 families are waiting to move into their new homes but cannot due to the lack of basic infrastructure in the society, the residents’ group informed. .
A resident said: ‘Many homebuyers are waiting to get the deeds for their purchased properties but have not been able to do so even after paying the full amount for the property to the developer.
The RWA said residents are also suffering from the lack of infrastructure.
Sector 65 police said, “We have received a complaint from residents against the developer, the case will be investigated and action will be taken accordingly. Despite repeated attempts, the developer did not respond to TOI’s questions.
