Over 700 students graduate in Amritsar : The Tribune India

The BBK DAV College for Women held its 50th convocation to award degrees to its 2019-2020 batch of graduates and graduates. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, MLA, Amritsar North, was the chief guest and awarded degrees to over 700 graduates and graduates from varied disciplines of arts, commerce, sciences, journalism, economics, computing, multimedia and fashion design.

Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Professor and Additional Director (College Education), Department of Higher Education, Government of Punjab was the guest of honour.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia presented the college’s annual report, highlighting BBK’s honors and achievements in scholars and co-scholars nationally, nationally and internationally. She congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to be torchbearers of Vedic values, academic excellence and work ethic in all walks of life.

In his convening speech, Chief Guest Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh said that nowadays quality education and development have become synonymous with each other. “Although our education system is more exam- and outcome-oriented, the focus should actually be on achieving excellence rather than getting good grades in exams,” he said. said, adding that nothing could replace hard work. “The real purpose of education must be to prepare responsible individuals who are accountable to themselves and their community,” he said.

Dr. Bhalla urged the students to be a source of pride and joy for their parents, the alma-mater and the nation. He called on students to equip themselves with a skills-based education to become job providers rather than job seekers.

The college’s Youth Welfare Department captivated the audience with a performance by the folk orchestra. Towards the end of the event, the latest issue of the university magazine “Shachi” was also published.
