Qatar Chamber and Ministry of Labor launch workforce re-employment platform for private sector

Doha: Qatar Chamber (QC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor (MoL), has launched the updated version of Labor Re-Employment Platform for Private Sector, which is a electronic platform that aims to help companies recruit jobs in the local market.

Speaking at a meeting, QC Director General Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi highlighted the Chamber’s interest in launching this developed version of the platform in coordination with the ministry, indicating that it aims to help companies obtain skilled and experienced workers from the local market instead of recruiting from outside the state, which saves time and ensures the continuity of projects. The platform helps streamline the transfer of employment from certain companies that have reduced operations or have laid-off workers to other new companies willing to hire new workers.

He pointed out that many companies have benefited from the platform in the last period, noting that the Chamber launched this platform to support the private sector and assist companies in difficulty.

“The Chamber is promoting the platform to business owners and local businesses to encourage them to use it to get needed employment,” he said.

Al Sharqi called on companies seeking to hire a new job to register on the platform and select from the laid-off workers, saying that contracts with workers will be supervised by the Ministry of Labor in accordance with applicable laws and procedures of the State.

He said the Chamber has developed the platform and further developments will take place in the coming period to bring more benefits to all parties, calling on companies to provide any insights that could help further develop platform work.

For his part, the director of the labor recruitment department, Nasser Al Mannai, thanked QC indicating that the platform is the result of an integrated effort between the Ministry of Labor and QC, and that it will contribute significantly to strengthening the Qatari labor market.

He underlined the ministry’s concern to facilitate procedures for companies that adhere to labor laws, noting that the companies that will benefit from the platform are companies that have committed themselves to respecting labor laws and have not committed no labor violations, such as late pay and other violations.

Al Mannai also said that the platform will help improve the Qatari labor market, streamline job transfer between companies, speed up obtaining skilled labor and shorten the time needed to recruit new people. jobs abroad, emphasizing that it allows companies to obtain their labor needs to carry out their projects according to the schedule.
