Railway projects in Odisha will provide employment opportunities: Ashwini Vaishnaw


Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is in Odisha, reviewed the status of railway projects during his visit to Jeypore area, Koraput district, state.

The Union Minister was briefed on the progress of various ongoing projects in the state, including the Jeypore-Malkangiri, Jeypore-Nawarangpur and Therubali-Gunupur railway line projects.

Vaishnaw stressed the importance of these projects and said that these lines will provide “better connectivity to economically and socially backward areas of Odisha”, during the review, the minister said on the acceleration of the projects.

“These will have a positive impact on the overall development of the region and will create more employment opportunities,” he added.

The minister also discussed new perspectives for the region.

In Junagarh, while addressing a function, Shri Vaishnaw ensured the acceleration of railway projects in the parliamentary constituency of Kalahandi.

During his visit to the Koraput, Jeypore and Junagarh area today, Vaishnaw has participated in various public functions. He also met with a number of beneficiaries of various central government social assistance programs.

Saturday was the third day of the Minister’s “Jan Ashriwad Jatra”, a public awareness program. “I have received several representations. The undivided Koraput is very beautiful. Why should people go to Switzerland! The necessary measures will be taken by the railways for the development of tourism in the region, ”he said. Koraput, a region with a large tribal population, is now divided into four districts – Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Nabarangpur.
