Summary
Solo Aquatics of the North Shore is a brand new age group team in the Boston metro area. We are currently looking for our first Head Coach to oversee the program. We use a well-developed feeding program and will progress these children through our first two levels of the Age Group Swim Program. This coach will report to the Director of Competitive Swimming and work together to apply and execute the philosophy of the program to swimmers. This position is ideal for the young coach who KNOWS they want to be in this profession and want to have resources behind them to help them grow and learn how to be a great coach.

Essential functions

• Assists and coaches swim team practices and meets
• Maintains constant supervision of students, identifies students who need help, and supports students as needed to ensure a positive learning environment
• Helps create new approaches to meet the needs of program participants
• Adheres to policies and procedures of organizational guidelines, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency incidents
• Maintains positive relationships with parents, caregivers and other staff, managing client conflicts and complaints as necessary

Mandatory Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and/or 3+ years of experience as a swim team coach
• 5+ years of experience on a competitive swim team
• Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR, AED, First Aid and Lifesaving certification
• Must have or be able to obtain a USA Swim Coach Membership
• A reliable means of transport to move between sites is essential
• Ability to recognize students who may need help
• Ability to recognize and remedy unsafe and dangerous situations

Prefer Qualifications
• Master’s degree
• 5+ years of experience as a swim team coach
• 3+ years of experience on a college level swim team
To work Environment
The trainer must remain indoors in a facility pool with water and air temperatures of 75 degrees or higher at all times. In the performance of their duties, the employee may be exposed to chemicals and fumes.

Physical requirements
Walks, runs, sits, stands, bends, lifts, swims and moves continuously during working hours; is prone to lifting more than 50 pounds. Must remain alert and able to recognize distress signals.

Type of position and expected working hours
This is a full-time position and hours vary; evenings and weekends are required.
