The government is working on the introduction of a reintegration program for those returning from a job abroad – myRepublica
KATMANDU, November 28: Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha said the government was putting in place a program to ensure the reintegration of people returning from abroad in the society.
In a meeting with stakeholders on Friday in preparation for the meeting of the Nepal-Qatar Joint Working Committee on the Bilateral Labor Agreement to be held in the capital on December 2-3, Minister Shrestha said said the reintegration plan was a priority for the government to ensure a labor market for those returning from abroad.
While stressing the need to ensure that Nepalese do not miss employment opportunities in the Qatar Police, Shrestha said that the decentralization of training centers, management of work related to the Qatar Visa Center, the Justice as well as the rescue of workers, who sustain injuries and other problems, must be assured. He said the establishment of a rescue mechanism was inevitable.
The discussion program brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security as well as foreign labor experts and foreign employment entrepreneurs. According to information provided in the discussion program, more than 350,000 Nepalese are currently working in Qatar.
